Courses, Teaching and Books

Rosie has over 20 years experience designing, establishing and running courses and drawing and painting workshops in botanical art. She teaches a variety of courses at her studio in South Devon, catering for groups, individual students and distance learners. Rosie was one of the first botanical art teachers to be advertised via the SBA newsletter and many of her students have gone on to win prestigious awards such as RHS medals.   she has taught in institutions all around U.K. Europe, U.S. Switzerland, Canada, South America, Arctic and Antarctica,  and Scandinavia.

She runs regular courses at her studio near Totnes, Devon, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are three 8, 9 or 10 -week terms with breaks for holidays and half-terms. The courses cater for beginners, improvers and advanced students and offer the basic principles of botanical art. The course work includes observational drawing, colour theory, watercolour and coloured pencil techniques, composition and presentation.   She is available for demonstrations, talks and courses nationwide.   Private tuition can also be arranged.
